WCVA’s Annual Lecture by Missing People CEO Jo Youle is now available to download, watch or stream.

Jo Youle AGM

This year's Annual Lecture, part of WCVA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2018, was delivered by Jo Youle, Chief Executive of the charity Missing People.

In 2014, Jo received Third Sector's Rising Chief Executive Award and in 2016 led Missing People to be ranked as the 18th best not for profit to work for in the annual Sunday Times list.

She has been a proud trustee of Brook since 2014, and Deputy Chair since January 2017. Jo was a Samaritan for ten years, latterly a Co-Director of Central London Samaritans following a career as an artist and songwriter for Warner Music and Chrysalis. She was recognised as a Guardian Top Charity Chief Executive on social media in 2015 and 2016.

In the lecture, Jo talks about how we can 'let fly' as third sector leaders - running through the amazing people she's met who've inspired her as a leader, her experiences as a professional musician and how it's all informed her faith in the third sector.

'We do need believers of all kinds - we need leaders, we need philosophers, we need writers, storytellers, carers…and we do need people who will stand up and protect and fight to make the world a better place, people who can help us believe that the world can be a better place'.

You can listen to Jo's lecture on Soundcloud, download as a podcast on the sidebar or watch as a video on YouTube.
