BAME Alliance

The BAME Alliance work as representatives of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities across Wales to consolidate and improve the strategic working relationship between the two Partners and presenting a united vision on race through the Welsh Government's Third Sector Scheme and within other public forums.

We raise public awareness of the issues, concerns and expectations of the communities served by the Alliance throughout Wales. We use collective evidence from our work to inform, lobby and campaign to relevant bodies in Wales and we encourage, share and promote good practice in advancing race equality and especially race equality issues across our wider network. We act as a voice for BAME people, raising their concerns and questions with Welsh Government and other sectors and feedback solutions etc

Any BAME led organisation may join our network by emailing:

• Race Council Cymru  -

• Race Equality First -

The current issues for the network include:
• the rise in racist incidents post Brexit resulting in adverse impact on BAME communities across Wales
• limited activities to promote community cohesion and good race relations
• the need to incorporate black history in curriculum for all school children
• poor recruitment opportunities for BAME people in Wales.
