Acting to improve the well-being of Wales - now and in the future

These resources provide an overview of the Well-being of Future Generations Act as an innovative and practical policy; requiring public bodies underpin their decision making by contributing to the seven well-being goals of the Act and following the five ways of working.

They explain why the Act has been developed, the role it plays in ensuring sustainable development of Wales, and how the third sector can contribute to its delivery.

You could start by watching our webinar introducing the Act, work your way through our resources on the well-being goals and ways of working, and then test your knowledge by completing our short online course on the Act.

Well-being Goals
Think the Goals of the Well-being of Future Generations Act are only for public bodies? The third sector contributes greatly towards the achievement of the goals and these factsheets, animation, and workshop aim to help groups think more about their contributions in the context of the goals; enabling them to demonstrate the impact that they're making.

These resources explain why the goals are important, how the third sector contributes and what we can do maximise our contributions. There are also statistics for reference and links to useful resources and support services.

Ways of Working

These factsheets introduce the five ways of working of the Well-being of Future Generations Act. They explore what the ways of working might mean in practise, some of the barriers to implementation, their potential impact on the third sector, and some useful resources and support for further thinking.

We would like to promote these useful resources far and wide so please feel free to share them with as many people as you can! We'd also love to hear any feedback you may have to help us identify what the sector needs to best equip it to work towards the goals and shout about what we're doing - inc@wcva.org.uk
